Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

CAS is a core component of the IBDP that encourages students to engage in a range of experiences across the three strands: creativity, activity, and service. Students document their involvement over 18 months in a portfolio that is reviewed and assessed internally by the school. Successful completion of CAS is required to be eligible for the IB Diploma.

Mandatory for all IBDP students

Required for the award of the IB Diploma.

18-month engagement across all three strands

Creativity, Activity, and Service must be meaningfully addressed.

At least one CAS Project.

A collaborative, sustained experience over a minimum of one month.

CAS advisor assigned to each student

Provides guidance and tracks progress.

Portfolio submission required

Must include documentation, reflections, and evidence of learning.

Regular reflections throughout

Students must reflect meaningfully on experiences and outcomes.

Work must show range

Planning, taking action, and demonstrating CAS learning outcomes.
