Small changes can create a big difference. At ABWA, we created that change by bringing our students together to #BulldozeBullying. Bullying is a big concern across the globe in schools and can take several forms, physical or verbal, online or in-person. This year we put together an Anti- Bullying Week (4th Oct to 10th Oct) to create awareness that it is our collective responsibility as a community of students, parents, teachers and carers to stop bullying.
Several events and activities centered around #BulldozeBullying took place which highlighted the need for everyone to #StandUp and #SpeakUp against bullying of any nature. The #OddDressDay had eager participation from students and teachers highlighting the importance of embracing our individuality. Our library highlighted literary works on understanding bullying and had our students write essays and letters about the topic.
The anti- bullying squad was introduced to the students in the weekly assemblies which also had students act and sing around the themes of acceptance and kindness.
It was a pleasure to see our senior students conduct activities for their juniors and engaging them in discussions about inclusion- exclusion and standing up for what is right.
The entire student body wrote on the Pledge Wall about how they will be an upstander and not a bystander.
The highlight of the week was the inter- house exhibit competition which saw our students get creative in presenting how bullying is experienced by all those involved. The judges were totally impressed and highlighted that ABWA students really do think out of the box.
