Grade 4A Student Reflection after the Muktangan Schhol Visit on Sat, 27 August 2011
On Saturday, 27th August 2011, Grade 4A of the Aditya Birla World Academy, went to the Muktangan centre at Dr. Ambedkar School. We met with the students of Grade 4. Once we settled down, we introduced ourselves. We had prepared some power point presentations on ‘Heroes’. Ishaan (my best buddy) and I made a PPT on Subhash Chandra Bose. It was about how he lived and what he did for our freedom struggle. Did you know that once he was not allowed to leave Europe so he disguised himself as an Afghan travel agent and left for Japan along with the Indian captured soldiers?
After the presentations were over, we conducted a quiz. The children were deep in thought and answered very well. We sang some patriotic songs with them and the atmosphere was vibrant. For our special friends we made bookmarks, which we distributed to them along with chocolates and the time came to say goodbye.

The purpose of going to Muktangan was to interact with the children. These children come from poor families and cannot afford basic education. Muktangan gives them an opportunity to study without paying.
I can help by donating educational toys, or I can volunteer to go and teach one day. I think you should go there and read them a storybook.
