Annual Day celebrations
at ABWA
Hours,
days, weeks of practice...and finally came the day!
The ABWA Annual Day concert began with the affable friends
as they met each other after a long time, talking to each
other and deciding what to do in the time left in their
summer vacations
The
opening
This was followed by the empowering Aditya Vandana,
with the students showing off their classical dance
moves choreographed by Ms. Vidya and her assistants.
The audience loved it and thought it was a brilliant
way to start the concert, worshipping the Sun God. Next
was the peppy school song that cast its inspiring silhouette
on the audience.
The
Indian folk dances
We had a cultural tour of India with the rhythmic Indian
folk dances. These were dances from across the states
of our country. The Kashmiri dance was a worthy successor
to the melodious and feet-tapping Rajasthani dance.
Then came the upbeat Bihu dance and finally the Bhangra!
Ashoka
Blast from the past! With a message to the mankind, taking
us back into the past, the Ashoka play held a serious
note. Charting the life of the brave valiant Ashoka, the
play was beautifully and accurately put together by our
willing and hardworking teachers and students. It taught
us how good triumphs over evil. The audience was engulfed
with emotion and got into the characters themselves.
Mother's
Day
This play successfully connected with the audience and
brought about empathy among a lot of the mothers. It also
made us realise how at times we unknowingly take our mothers
for granted!
Haasya Kavi Sammelan
From the old wine in new bottles to the sound effects
and the excellent timing, the comedy was a light-hearted
relief after an emotional English play.
Rock
band
The music must have brought about nostalgia among so many
parents! We now understand why great singers like Michael
Jackson and John Lennon are called legends.
Even some of our grandparents couldnt deny the fact
that they liked it a lot.
Western dances
Our parents were in awe with the dances to songs like
Mamma Mia, Jailhouse Rock and Break Dance. I am sure the
dance evoked memories of the Michael Jacksons show
in Mumbai for parents who had seen him live here, many
years ago.
Finally, we would like to end this
piece by thanking Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla and Mrs.
Neerja Birla, our Principal, Mrs. Sinha, our Secondary
Co-ordinator Ms. Franak, all the teaching and non-teaching
staff and every person who has contributed in making
this annual day a resounding success.
